13 keeps appearing everywhere...?!

A friend of mine (female, if that is of any relevance) keeps getting the number 13 on sales receipts, minutes of telephone usage, time of day (eg 7:13am).

It's almost getting to the point where it's scary - personally I'm a very scientificically oriented person, but this is definitely starting to get weird!
