Re: Candida or SIBO?
I just had some tests done (stool tests) and it showed I had Candida 3+ plus it showed my good bacteria and bad bacteria. Because I had undigested meat and vegetable fibers it showed I was low in HCl. These tests were not that expensive and were paid for Medicare. Perhaps your insurance will pay for it because Medicare pays for it. Regardless I doubt if they were more than $200. Swallowing a string sounds gross to me (I gag easy). Picking around over the stool samples is gross but it doesn't hurt me.
Also, all the symptoms you mention, I have, including the red inflammed eyes, chapped peeling lips, psoriasis/dermitatis, sinusitis, etc.
Interestingly, they found no mucus in my stools.
I go to the dr today to get the results of all my tests including the metals. So many people on here have high metals with candida. Now that test I had to pay for myself because Medicare did not pay for it. $270. That's expensive but it is the only way of knowing the amt of metals in my body. I want to feel better and if that is what it takes, I'll pay it. God knows, I have paid more than that for over the counter meds that did nothing OR made me sicker. I have paid thousands to various drs I have gone to -- dermatologists and all his pricey pills, salves and creams, eye doctors for dry eyes. I even went to Mayo for my dermatitis/psoriasis. I could go on but I am so glad I had these tests done because I don't have to be in limbo and always wondering "What is wrong with me". I now know and can get it treated.
Best of luck to you!
