Re: Lee/CF
hi Lee, I also wasn't in CZ yesterday, I'm happy to see you're well enough again.
"What really disturbed me was the throat-swelling"
that is a typical symptom of anaphyllactic shock, I know because I had 3 of them in a row some years ago. Seems you're allergic to cocoa. (maybe in time you can consider checking) At the time in the hospital (I had to go there in my 3rd shock, as I lost the heart and then began to vomit blood) they kept me without eating anything but milk for some days. As milk is not an option, you should try to figure out something you can eat in these days (at least a week) that can calm down your body, which has passed by considerable stress. Maybe continuing with the cabbage could do. I also would suggest you to sleep the most you can.
If it was an anaphyllactic shock, then the caffeine contained in the cocoa was not the culprit, on the contrary it is what has saved you from much worse symptoms. During such shocks the heart goes into bradichardia, that means it slows down, and in fact people are given adrenaline injection, to not let the heart stop. Something like in the famous scene of Pulp Fiction, but in reality the adrenaline is in the thigh, not in the heart.
If it wasn't anaphyllactic shock, then forget what I said, but then I wouldn't understand the swelling of the throat... If it was, then I understand you completely, there is nothing more scary than that! I had more problems to get out of the shocks emotionally than physically, it is so violent!
Take care!
