yup, eats straight through the skin (or rather, since its constantly flowing, simply keeps it from growing at all right on the spots).

sometimes the skin managed to heal over it, in which case it simply spreads underneath faster (look at the "saliva peel" pic in the gallery), and thus speeds up the cycle~
