Re: The deal with Processed Soy

I agree....i was really knocked back when i found out soy was not the greatest substitute for vegetarian/vegans.

A well researched vegan friend of mine says it's all in the preparation of it. So i guess it's about buying in soy nuts and doing it DIY! but who has the time?

I've cut out tofu completely...and dried soy chunks (these would give me sever bloating/gas/cramps...moreso than broccoli and beans in the same meal!)

I'm vegan and only have soy milk. the brand i get is 95% water so i deduce that the small amount of soy i do have is so minimal im hoping that it's not registering in my system. (I rarely make smoothies etc with soy milk)

I rely on Quinoa for protein. It contains 9 amino acids. Its delicious added to salads.
I really don't buy into the 'vegetarian substitute meats'...they taste like s**t and moreoftenthannot contain hydrogenated vegetablle oils.

Avoiding soy was hard at first but there are some great alternatives out there that are more delicious. :-)
