Re: Rant on Tooth bud implants
You are right...so damn right. I don't mind admitting now that I have not been to a dentist in over a decade. From the time I was a young child, I was tortured by an orthodontist. I had a tooth extracted at 7, and then braces, retainers from 7-11. My fear of dentists is life long, and I had to force myself to go, even once a year.
I felt so sure that the last dentist I went to was doing unnecessary procedures...it was gut feeling, I don't know enough to say for sure. But that was it, I stopped going.
I'm careful about taking care of my teeth, and I have not had one problem with them in 15 years. My friends, on the other hand, go faithfully every 6 months, and they are all in the midst of painful and costly dental procedures. Many have had caps. Some have had dental implants. So many bridges, root canals, etc. And they all say they weren't having any problems prior to going, but the dentist "found something". No one argues with them. No one says "No" to a root canal. They are dentists, they should know better, right?
I am not one for
Conspiracy theory. But I truly believe that the ADA is trying to keep themselves thriving. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this.
I've posted this a few other times on CZ, but I think this site is awesome. An insiders view of the ADA, and how to never see a dentist again, as long as you live. The e books are reasonably priced, and well worth the purchase.
