Re: Mosquito bites
Hi ToastieOat,
I have had the same problem as your little granddaughter. I have done some reasearch and found tiger balm or
tee tree oil to help the itching and swelling but first hydrogen peroxide. Ice helps but much more difficult to use
it it just a couple bites.
For those pest buggers I have found the most user friendly to the body to be the oil of CITRONELLA. I find the best
is made by Aura Cacia. This is an essential oil and will not harm the body and WIll KEEP THE BUGS AWAY!
NOW for the not-so-great news.....the smell takes some getting used to. If only I had taken enough on my trip
around the world....probably wouldn't have gotten to two worse kinds of MALARIA when my arm rested against my
mosquito net in Mombasa, Africa. Now I love the smell of Citronella...I keep bottles everywhere in plastic baggies
sealed tight. Citronella mosquito coils are quite popular for outdoors, and of course, I use a mosquito net over my
bed in the summer....even in foggy California.
You can research CITRONELLA above.
I put about 5 or more drops in my palms, smear and apply lightly all over
skin and clothes....more on my face and hair. Wow...one of my favorite shares! LuLu
