Where are you at now, Deotima?
You've had your year of 'crazy time', and you seem like such a thoughtful, well-grounded person.
Did you find a new direction? Or, do you have new dreams? If not quite yet, they are just around the corner, you know.
The secret of being 'older' is that you aren't...as you, no doubt, have learned.
My dh turned 82 yesterday. I'm his third wife, at 68, as he was widowed twice. I know no healthier man, especially in his mind.
A counselor once told me, about people who have disappointed/hurt me..."They thought they were supposed to." Which now translates to..."They didn't know any better."
I must tell you, that little truism pulled me out of many a funk from my former life.
Another point that somebody made, sticks with me...tomorrow is always different than today. We may have enjoyed the 1940's, or '50's, but that time is gone...never to return. Yet we take what was good with us and build a fine 2007, with what we find today, and tomorrow.
Hope you read here again soon, and tell us what is new.
My best,
fledgling
