According to Denise Linn (she has a great book on past lives), you can change the outcome of any unresolved past life trauma by remembering the incident (through regression or dreams) but then changing the script. For instance, a boy was born with throat problems which no doctor could successfully treat. His father had a regression and recognized his son in a particular scene where he (the son) was murdered by having his throat slashed. Even though this was a horrific scene to recall, this man was encouraged to relive the experience but change the outcome. So he imagined, with as much feeling as possible, that instead of his son having his throat slashed, the assailant lost his nerve, dropped the knife and fled. I think the 'feeling' aspect of it is very important. Apparently, in this way the trauma was negated and after the man came out of his regression and went back to his normal life, he reported that his son stopped having any throat problems. The son had no knowledge of his father's regression.
So, if you actually remember incidents, maybe you can use your power of imagination/visualization to change what happened so it will not continue to affect you negatively.
