Re: Your momma!
Janaki!
When I opened my mail and saw I had a message from you I was puzzled. Had no recollection of replying to one of your posts.
Then I opened it... and laughed till I got tears in my eyes!
What a RIOT! Seems at least one black person has figured significantly in my life. When my mom became pregnant with me, my oldest sister was 6, my middle sister 4,but they'd both be in school come Sept. She was ready to get out of the house, not have another baby. She confided in a neighbor who gave her the name of a doctor who could "fix" her problem. From what I understand she made an appointment and went to see him. You guessed it, the doctor was black. (wish I could've have seen it-how did she squirm outta that one?) So her prejudice kept me alive.
The idea that she was, at some time, black herself makes perfect sense to me. She was just repaying what she'd been given.
Pardon my post message, it was just too good to resist!
Blessings, Marj
