Opinions please...

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this on but here goes... My neice is a healthy, bright, two year old girl. She, like all other young children has started to realize that it feels good to touch herself. Now...how much of this is normal?

My neice spent the weekend with her grandparents (my parents) and my mother confided in seeing Madelyn doing something strange. Apparently, she looked over, and saw Madelyn lying down flat on her back and using a 'Fisher Price Little Person' to stimulate herself. Mom ignored it. A few minutes later, she looked over again and Madelyn had her pants and underwear down to her knees using a plastic swingset to do the same. Is this normal? I really don't suspect abuse...but where would get this? Daycare? TV?
