I wouldn't recommend eating a lot of typical animal protein (grocery store variety) because the meat has tons of hormones! That should not help (and possibly excacerbate) your condition. But if you can get the grass fed, free range beef, chicken, etc. then fine.
I had a roommate in college who was a fat lazy slob (no kidding)... ate junk all the time... and she had perfect, beautiful skin. She never even washed it except in the shower, just rinsing it with water. She told me that using soaps and stuff just makes your skin worse and I had never thought of that, but once she mentioned it, guess she has a point. I cut down on the washing and switched to a very simple natural soap and mostly just rinse with water these days. I didn't have acne before but my skin is much better now. But some people (like my roommate) are just lucky.
