Re: To Amberlynn - My Response to supersport:

My response to supersport's "Stat's of a Prochoicer"

super says:
<<<"people on here overwhelmingly female. -- This is a true statement">>>

I say:
I am not sure. I don't know everyone's gender on this board, but I would suspect that Pro-Choice women in this country are more pressed with the issue then men since men are not able to get pregnant.

super says:
<<<"You're an atheist or some other form of non-believer" -- It's pretty clear that most pro-choicers on this board -- and everywhere else -- are not born-again Christians.">>>

I say:
This is probably the most arrogantly offensive statement of all.

I consider myself "a believer" but NOT in your cliquish and heavily judgemental one-way organized Religion fire-and-brimstone road to heaven. I believe in God, and Jesus, but I do not believe that your extreme Fundamentalist "Born Again" Denomination is the only way.

I do not believe everything in the Bible was meant to be interpreted literally and should not be, as the Bible has been supressed and rewritten again and again down through the ages by men, for men.

I have had similar problems with "Born Again" Christians as Amberlynn has, and most of all they are thieves and they worship money. They commit the most flagrant offenses against others but cover them by saying that they "have already been forgiven" so they continue to treat people badly because they think that they are exclusively "chosen". I have much more to say but I better save it for the Christianity Debate forum.

I respect everyone's elses beliefs, whether they are Buddist, Muslim, Hindu etc., or even Atheist. The key is that I do not judge others over their organized Religion, or lack thereof. You my dear supersport, and all the sheep that follow you in Fundamentalism, unfortunately DO.

super says:
<<<"you are either unhappily married or unhappily single" -- If you'd like I'll dig up the countless number of studies that show how people who pray/go to church/believe in God live healthier, longer, happier, more fullfilled lives. They're also less likely to commit crimes and more likely to have happier marriages. On the flipside, people who've had abortions (pro-choicers, obviously) have been shown to suffer from Depression and lifelong guilt and anxiety moreso than the "average" person. This is doubly true if you happen to be homosexual. I can prove this through documented studies if you'd like, too.">>>

I say:
Wrong. I am happily attached to a man who is my fiance' and we have been together three years. He is loving, kind, considerate and respectful, and he does not degrade women and feel like they should be "put in their place".

Spare me the one-sided studies you may find on the internet supporting Churgoers due to what I've said above. And there have been plenty of "Born Againers" that have commited crimes. They are definitely not as perfect as they expect everyone else to be.

I have personally delt with abortion but I do not regret it whatsoever and I don't feel any "lifelong guilt". Depression comes naturally at times if one has been wronged by another, but I have no Depression whatsover over abortion.

super says:
<<<"You think men are stupid, worthless and don't carry their own weight." -- This is statement is right out of the feminist playbook, which you, and many others on this board seem to be. Feminism has a nasty habit of elevating women by bringing down men. For example, look what feminism has done to men on TV! Back in the 50's and 60s men acted like Ward Cleaver and Andy Griffith. Now they act like Homer Simpson. Oftentimes they are fat, stupid, lacking confidence and often good-for-nothing. This is no accidental portayal. It's the feminist/liberal agenda at work. Amberlynn your posts about cutting off my genitals proves that you fall in line perfectly with this mindset.">>>

I say:
Wrong. If I felt this way I would not be with a man right now. I don't know how to address this particular paragraph of yours because everything I believe in and am personally experiencing is so humourously opposite of what you say. My fiance' is the complete oppostite of your discription in every way, even up to the "carry their own weight" as he mostly financially supports me, and my daughter as well.

But I will say this. I despise men who are sexist and chauvinist and believe women "should be put in their place", and who are abusive in this way because of these beliefs. I understand that this is what caused Amberlynn to express a reaction of "cutting off your genitals".

super says:
<<<"You hate George Bush" -- Nothing controversially shocking here. George Bush is the most hated man in decades.">>>

I say:
Wrong. I don't hate George Bush, but he obvious has made some mistakes and I do not support everything he does. However, I really don't think that he's actually the one running the country. Here again, I do see some hypocrisy with the "Born Again Christian" Denomination, but I will save the rest for the Political Debate Forum.

super says:
<<<"You hate Christmas" -- Probably not all liberals hate Christmas -- but I bet most do. The whole concept of Jesus' birthday certainly makes a great many of them very uncomfortable. There's a growing segment of that group that's systematically pushing Christmas out of the public arena, not to mention out of schools, librarys and anything else on public grounds.">>>

I say:
Wrong. I don't hate Christmas because of Jesus's birthday, but I do not like the present over-commercialization of Christmas.

super says:
<<<"You hate Christians" -- I would like to ammend this. I would say a more accurate statement is you hate any Christian who is pro-life or conservative (which is certainly most of us). This is a farily safe statement based on what has been said to me in this forum.. And Amberlynn you've already disparaged Christians a few times in your short stint on this board. I can find that, too if you want -- not to mention countless other ridicules by various pro-choicers.">>>

I say:
I have an aversion to Faux-Christians who elevate themselves up on a pedestal because they believe that they are superior to others and they assume that they have all of the right answers to their life, and to the lives of others. They have their beliefs about abortion ONLY because their man-made and organized Faux-Religion tells them to. They tend to interpret the Bible in self-serving ways and they do not follow Jesus's teachings as they believe. They interpret the Bible way too literally.

I don't like anyone who tries to control another and force their beliefs on them.

super says:
<<<"You hate right-wingers" -- ditto...this goes along with what was just said. You seem to especially hate southern conservatives like myself. Somehow you've convinced yourself that I'm just as bad as that scummy guy who raped you. This country is ripped at the seams with hate, portrayed perfectly by your statements on this board.">>>

I say:
I don't think all Right-Wingers are the same. If they are Religious Right-Wingers acting like I just described above, then reread my answer to your last question and you will get your answer.

The problem is supersport, that you tend to judge others too heavily, and you think that everyone fits into a certain mold. I bet if you saw any of us, no one would fit
the picture you have in your mind.

However, I believe that you will never get anything that anyone on the Pro-Choice side says to you because you seem to have a closed mind. I see you post new threads that repeat past points that have already been made.

Debating is not about winning. It's about people having different views and beliefs, and having respect and allowing others to retain those beliefs, WITHOUT CONTROLLING OTHERS.
