I have never used rape as my "justification" however, having been a mother, I simply could never see carrying the child of a rapist in my body. It actually gives me the willies just to think about it.

You don't automatically "bond" with the life growing inside you. If you really wanted to get pregnant, then I think it's a very joyful time, when all facets of pregnancy are interesting and exciting. But should you have a pregnancy that was not wanted, then it would be a very very long 9 months. And, if I were carrying a child of someone who had raped me, then every time that fetus moved inside me, I'd feel such anguish and pain. Most likely, I would hate the child to be. That's just being honest.

With all we know about genetics, I wonder how many couples would legally adopt a child that has the genetic imprint of a rapist? How many would adopt a child with the genetic imprint of mental illness? At least, I wonder how easy is it for those adoption agencies to place babies like that? That makes for an interesting question. Probably impossible to find any viable statistic measurement on something like this.
