Re: To Nancy

You make some good points judy.

But I have a comment about the "And you want these people to reproduce?" logic many people have...

I think one of the reasons I'm so personally against abortion is because I was adopted when I was a baby. (Thank God I had great parents.) But I could have so easily been terminated by a mother who simply thought my life wasn't worth anything....that I was just a blob of flesh.

I know nothing about my birthmother. She could have been a teen who got herself in trouble at an early age...or she could have been a drug addict who was selling herself for extra cash. I simply have no idea. But I thank God every night that I'm here to witness this great miracle of life that He created. I'm so thankful that God gave my birthmother enough love in her heart to give me a chance for my spirit to flourish and grow.

I'm so lucky to be here. We all are, really. Most people just take for granted all the miracles and insane improbabilities that happened to enable them to be where they are right now. To me, it's absolutely staggering. Sometimes I look up at the sky or look at the sun or look at my kids and it just makes me want to melt with overwhelming joy.

Some people envision God being some old white-haired guy in sky. But to me it's so much more than that. I've come to the realization that we're all made from His wisdom. Humans are the epitome of God's love, knowledge and perfection. I think that's something worth saving. S
