Re: Do you believe in God?

Sorry dear, your idea of God, I'm not buying. I don't believe in GOD, so, I'm just not at all afraid of all the hell and brimstone stuff. I'm sorry you feel that your version of GOD is so judgmental, or his very judgmental son, I should say. That's the thing I could never understand when I went to church as a child, if he is so loving, and all forgiving, why is there some sort of retribution for non-belief? Why in the world do you need to give yourself to HIM to go to a beautiful afterlife. And then through a child's eyes, mind you, why do the people at church, who profess to be Christians, treat each other so badly?

And lastly, why do Christians think that they have the only correct version? And, that version, I'm assuming, is what the far right in the country want to become part of our political base. And once apart of our political base, will cause the extinction of the rights of women over their own choice of procreation.

There is no separation of Church and State, and our country is not the melting pot that we have portrayed ourselves, our country is run on one religion. So sad, Christianity is just one concept of so many. I wondered what would have happened if China had found the US first? We wouldn't be having this discussion, would we? Because abortion would be mandatory.
