Prolapse

I have been diagnosed with bladder, rectal, and uterine prolapse. My doctor told me it would only be a matter of time before I would be so uncomfortable that I would need surgery, including a hysterectomy, and that I should just consider doing it right away. I just turned 40 and find it hard to believe that this is a common thing, according to the doctor.

I am wondering has anyone else had any experience (first hand or even second hand!) with this problem or with hysterectomy. Is it possible to correct this to some degree with excercise or whatever? I am inserting a pessary and for the first time in years am 'dry'. However, I have frequent recurrent yeast infections so I think that a pessary may not be a long term solution.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas.
