I haven't used Minera, but my gyn leaves the strings on all IUD's extra long (~3 in. from vaginal opening) as general practice. According to her, using extra long strings allows them to curl up near the cervix, vs. being "wirey." My husband says he can feel them, but he's never been "stuck."
