The composition of my diet has never been too bad. When I "cheat" it's like a bag of mm's or chocolate. I haven't eaten fast food in years. I mostly eat lean protein and don't really care for breads or pasta much. I suppose I don't eat enough vegetables. I hope you have a successful fast. Just know that it is a scientific fact that within 48 hours of fasting (no calories), the body's Resting Metabolic Rate decreases by as much as 50% and won't increase much until carbohydrates are introduced to the body (not just protein). The production of T3 (thyroid hormone) is reduced because the conversion of T4 (thyroid gland) into T3 stops. So, your thyroid kind of stops. Exercise cannot change this. So, if you eat a lot after you've faste for 48 hours, you will only be burning about 500 calories at your RMR. But, good news is that your RMR returns to normal the minute you ingest some carbs. That's why I am so curious as to my body's prsent state.
