The diet by Dr Mcdougall is actually a former best seller. Vegetarian yes - vegan actually. He has several books but the one I read is called McDougall for Maxium Weight loss. He pretty much guarantees you will lose about 15
pounds a month and I lost considerably more then that. Check out his website it is great and the book is everywhere look for it in barnes and noble.
What i eat on my day off is this
Shreaded wheat with rice milk for breakfast
Small salad with chickpeas and fat free dressing for lunch
Carrots or apple for snack
Vegetable soup or vegan chili for dinner(no oil or added fats) the soup I make is with veggie broth.
Sometimes I don't even eat that much - just depends on how hungry I am. The only oil I have is an occassional tablespoon of peanut butter. Natural peanut butter if I feel like I am really breaking down and need a treat.
