Here's another thought

I would post on the Ask Andreas Forum . If you can't get a message on there (he's really busy) your symptoms are so severe it would be worthwhile to pay for a phone conversation with him. He's a vegetarian as well and very good at cutting through to the underlying problem. Like WHY your body isn't absorbing the iron. It sounds like you have more problems than just whether or not to eat meat.

If you are going to start eating meat, please don't start with pork or red meat. Look for a local source of organic chicken or even get some from a health food store. And start with small quantities, not pork chopS for heavens sake! Although, it sounds like eating meat isn't really going to solve the problem. If you aren't able to absorb iron and other nutrients from vegetables, eating meat isn't going to help.

It sounds like you have various health problems that stem at least in part from not having a good healthy diet. You might want to do some serious research about nutrition on your own. Reading on curezone is a good place to start learning. There are other sources of iron etc besides meat. I would never tell someone to just go to the grocery store and get pork chops or steak. IF (and I stress IF) a person feels they need to eat meat they need to find a source for grass fed organic humanely raised meat. NOT the chemical laden, nutrition depleted, toxic offal from sick tortured animals that passes for meat in grocery stores. And oh please not pork of all things!

The best overall book for improving your diet and health is Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejuvenation by Andreas. You can get it from his website or off amazon.

The insulin and weight and blood Sugar problems are screaming for you to get off of refined grains and sugar. Go to the library and check out books like The No Grain Diet (or get it used on amazon cheap) and do some research along those lines. Here's a very active forum where you can talk to others on that same path: http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1 they have vegetarian members that could probably give you some good advice and support.

If you were my own child I'd take you right away up to visit with Andreas. He's a miracle worker! Good luck!
