Re: We're on the same page...
I watched my mother suffer over 30 years with those same horrible medications, with no positive results, and a multitude of harmful side effects. Like you, I was determined not to let this be the path for my nieces. I took a simple, common sense approach and went back to the basics of good health (nutrition). As a result, good health was achieved. I have no doubt that this can be the same result for your son. Basically, you have to play the role of his immune system (identifying and fighting off allergen/irritants) until his immune system is strong enough and balanced enough to handle the fight on its own.
Had we allowed my nieces to be placed on the medications the doctors suggested for their severe eczema, my nieces would still be suffering today. Not only with eczema, but also with other autoimmune diseases. My middle niece has a cousin her age (4 years old) who has been suffering this way since her infancy. Her parents chose the doctor recommended route, and for all of her life that little girl has been suffering with itching skin. Now, to her, pain is normal. She seen specialist after specialist and not once has her diet or her allergens been addressed. They simply prescribe harsher medications to coverup the symptoms. They fell into the myth that she would grow out of it; but they didn't realize that in order for that to happen, you would actually have to feed the immune system the nutrition it needed to bring about that result. Despite my immediate family's success, my cousins chose to follow the doctors lead because they had the degrees in medicine and I didn't. This is why I say the hardest battle for eczema sufferers is not the body's ability to heal; but rather, the mind-sets that prevent the body the opportunity to prove that it can.
I understand your fight and the passion behind it. Don't give up five yards before the finished line!
