Re: Question for Anyone that has fasted for weight loss and had success
I have to mention that a few of my friends have fasted for YEARS. I just started last year with very short fasts (2 days), doing my 1st 10 day fast this year, this would be my second.
It is imperative to have either 1.) a very light strict diet prior to doing a fast and after & 2.) have done shorter fasts before your "big" one. I have not seen anyone jump right into a 40 day fast if they did not did one of the above.
As for your height and weight I can only 'guesstimate' that you will lose at maximum 40-50
lbs. based on the 1 lb. per day slow down that happens after the first few days. With this in mind, you can also go on low-cal diets that will give the same results...unless you've reached a plateau like me and have other reasons for doing a fast.
If this is your 1st fast EVER I would recommend doing it for 3 days and see how you feel...take it to 5,7, then 10. Remember it is a very difficult process and you should have some small fasts under your belt to get your body use to it. In fact, many of my friends always say that once you do alot of short fasts the longer ones become easier and easier because your body has learned to fast, if that makes sense, lol.
And also, losing THAT much weight is also very weakening. That's why a few ppl I know ended up choosing juice fasts that were more tolerable. What is your history with fasting, have you tried straight juice fasts?
