Re: Visit to a slaughterhouse

Oh Pullleeeze. What an overzealous sensationalist site. For us to eat, animals die, period. Even for vegans. A salamander being mortally wounded by a plow in the course of growing vegetables, or a cute little mole being impaled by a seeder can and often is a much slower, and more supposedly 'traumatic' death than what happens in a slaughterhouse.

For the record, a steer doesn't give a rats ass about the smell of blood. That's why naive city-folk shouldn't be allowed to visit slaughterhouses, they tend to take a Disneyesque, almost comically anthropomorhic view on the proceedings.

Here's something to consider: When folks have to lie, exaggerate, and misrepresent reality to push forth thier political agenda, it's because their political agenda can not stand on it's own merit.
