Cholesterol is only found in animal fat anyway.

Although people wants to make you believe that eating cholesterol will increase your cholesterol, that is not true. It is the bad fats that increase it. Those associated with graind-fed beef and the like.

I think that there are even people claiming that coconut oil will lower cholesterol.

Even then, high cholesterol is not that bad. Cholesterol transports substances accross the body. Eating a lot of beta-carotene food such as carrots will increase the level or so-called "bad" cholesterol, as it is needed to transport beta-carotene. The real culprit is oxidative stress, which oxidize the cholesterol and make the arterial plaque.
