I'm lucky to live in a state where raw is legal. The aftertaste might be something the cows have been eating, otherwise I agree with richard that there is not much difference from commercial milk (except that it does somehow taste more wholesome).
The cream is awesome. I sometimes scoop some off to have with fruits, especially now that berries and peaches are coming into season. Some time ago, a half gallon of milk got "lost" in the back of my refrigerator (things got cramped over the holidays). When I finally rediscovered it, it had been there a couple of months. Well . . . it smelled okay, so I scooped out the soured cream and added it to a saute of root vegetables. Uuuummmm . . . heavenly!!!
