Re: What is the cause for down syndrome?

Dear Jeanette,

Unfortunately, genes receive a lot of blame these days for being the cause of illness. Down Syndrom (DS) appears to be a genetic condition in which there is an extra chromosome in the cells of a baby's body. This extra chromosome results most often from abnormal cell division of the egg before conception. It can also occur in the sperm before conception of a baby or in the fertilized egg after conception.

However, the physical and mental retardation seen with DS occur also without the extra cell chromosome. The same stands true for most other "genetic" illnesses. You may look at a group of 100 people who have the genes for diabetss or heart disease and discover that only some of them will develop these diseases. And you will find that there are numerous poeople whose genes are perfect, yet they have the very same diseases.

In other words, if you have or had someone with DS in the family, the chances that your child will have DS are basically just as remote as in a family who does not have a case of DS. The chances of having a DS child are not controlled statistically, although it is known the mother's age plays a role. Why does an older woman have a greater risk of giving birth to a DS child? To answer that question you have to leave the gene-cause theroy and ask what the other influences are that make an older woman more prone to developing such a fetus than a younger one.

The answer lies in the build-up of waste, toxins, stones in the liver bile ducts, reduced nutrient absorption due to poorer digestion, weight gain, blocked lymphatic ducts, thickening of blood vessel walls, poor diet, use of drugs such as antibiotics, drinking more alcohol, possible effects from smoking, lack of exercise, emototional issues, etc. This must not be the case. A woman can easily give birth to a healhty child at age 40-45 if she cleansed all her main organs and systems (liver, kidneys, large intestines, reproductive organs, blood vessel walls, lymphatic vessels, etc., and nourished her body appropriately (see details in my books The Amazing Liver Cleanse and The Key to Health and Rejuvenation www.1stbooks.com). Older women have had extra years to develop inefficient digestive and reproductive systems than younger ones, which is the main physiological reason for DS.

Another reason is the frequent use of ultrasound (see The Key...). The main, non-phyiscal, reason for DS is related to the karmic needs for learning from having such a child. DS children teach their parents the lessons of unconditional love, patience and compassion. This is controlling all the other more physical reasons. Much of this cause is centred in previous life experiences that are rarely knows to the parents, but are often known to these children, especially to those that are mentally retarded. There is no DS child that has not chosen this path prior to conception. He actually chooses parents that can fulfil the such a need.

I hope that you will find this helpful,
Andreas
