Re: how to seperate kefir grain from yogurt? They are Heterogeneous compound.

I am fairly new to making kefir but this is what I do:

After letting the kefir sit for 24 hrs, I then take a clean fork and whisk it around in the kefir (I only make about 2 cups of kefir at a time). Then I pour some kefir into a bowl and fish out chunks of kefir grains with the fork, then dump the remaining kefir into a blender. I keep doing this until I've fished most of the kefir grains out. Now, this does leave some grains in the kefir, but I have read that it is good to eat some of the kefir grains, which I mix up in the blender with some fruit & such for a tasty smoothie. (I have tried using a strainer but had no luck with that method).
