Hi Renee! It could be too that your colon and liver need to be cleansed in order to effectively use the good oils you're taking. The liver is responsible for breaking down fat and if it's congested then it probably isn't breaking them down properly. Epsom Salt baths are SO great. Yes they do work. I too sometimes ask myself that because I don't notice any visable difference after taking one but from what I've read they are very helpful to the body in detoxing. It takes the burden off your kidneys and liver. I put about 1 1/2 cups of Espom salts in my bath and soak for 20 minutes in the hottest water I can stand. You don't want it too hot or too much salt because you can detox too fast. There were a few times I felt lightheaded afterwards. Bowel cleansing is quite safe. You said you were scared to get it done, are you talking about a colonic? That is where you go to a colon hyrdotherapist and they use a tube to clean you out. I've never done that. Many people swear by them and enemas as well. I haven't done that either. I like to stick with fiber drinks and I make sure to drink lots of water. In the mornings first thing when I wake up I mix a psyllium fiber drink (1 tsp.) and follow that with another full glass of water. Acidophilous is a great probiotic and yes it should help your skin eventually. What's it's doing is creating a balanced state in your colon which in turn will help your digestion, etc, etc. Definitely check out Shelley's forum. I know it's a lot of info and a lot to think about but you'll get there. Don't give up either, it may take some time. I have to keep reminding myself that; I sometimes think that I'll never have a regular menstural cycle. It can be really frustrating when you're trying to do all the right things for your health and your body is being a poop. *smile*
