Your gum disease could be either a local or a systemic problem. Most cases reflect a local infection and require to get the gums checked, cleaned and sometimes trimmed by a capable periodontist.
Using salt-water rinses or diluted hydrogen peroxide can be helpful, but if you have developed deep gum pockets, any local rinse will be insufficient to resolve the problem long term.
My suggestion is to get a periodontist to check your gum pocket depth first, before you decide how to further proceed.
