The device pictured is quite different from the ones mentioned in the patents. Those have "an intensity of between about 2 and about 100 Tesla..." This equates to between 20,000 and 1,000,000 Gauss. By comparison, the unit mentioned in your posting has a field strength of 620 Gauss, or 0.062 Tesla. That's over 30-to-1 difference, minimum.
