$10 Zapper

Okay, I just got my $10 zapper and I ran to the store to get a 9V battery and a copper pipe. Just want to make sure I'm doing this right so I drew a 5-yr-old's diagram of it's assembly lol (I don't have a digital camera), so can anyone tell me if this is how to use the zapper with the copper pipe.

I took the two copper rings and put them at the end of the copper pipe and then connected the oppositely charged clips at each end.
So then I just hold the copper pipe for each 7/21 minutes, alternating between hands (?).
Please let me know if this is the right way :P
