Re: Question about Eczema

Hi Aunty - thanks xx

YES - i know what it is: it's touching food and vegetation!
A shame as my favourite pastimes are cooking and gardening - and whatsmore I'm not going to stop!

Worst things are tomatoes (arrgh, that itches like MAD!), onions, lemons, the leaves of my veggie plants, avocado's and of course the housework before I stopped using chemicals! I don't really notice reactions to eating anything, but when I'm tired it'll get worse. Oh, I suspect white wine too.

I find using Persil NON-BIO is best for clothes, I don't use any soap whatsover, or wear rings, for washing up I buy a marine-friendly one from the health shop that's kinder (and have forced hub to buy me a dishwasher!). I try not to use any chemicals when cleaning - you don't really need them to clean the house although I'm sure Unilever will have something to say about that! (Well I do use a bath spray, but I dont have to touch it, just rinse it off.)

It's really quite difficult when it's your hands - as you need to touch things! Gloves are a waste of time, I'm allergic to them all, I just have to wash hands after touching foods or plants, then I put on 'Savlon Barrier cream', which is great.

I have it pretty much under control now - but it'll never go away, I know how this poor girl must feel!

OH - one more thing that's really good - BALNEUM, its a bath oil mostly made from SOYA OIL. Calms a break out well.
