Well you are not pathetic. I am on day 2 and struggling like you would not believe. I am very new to this but from reading these posts you can tell that this is very hard process. Places like this help for support and get you ready to take on the challenges. My advice would be take a couple of days and start eating less and less food. During that time prepare your mind for the challenge ahead. Only eat when it is necessary and deny yourself sweets. When this weekend hits go full-force and hopefully you will be ready by then.
Of course you will get lots of different opinions and they are all right just from different experiences. Use the one that fits you best.
