Yes, I expected a response.
But I expected something having to do with the topic at hand. The site I got this from is a VEEERY Christian site, not a defense for Al-Jazeera or thte Iraqui information minister.
My point was and still is, based on that on this forum and elsewhere, rampant accusations are made daily about how christians are bigots, zealots, war mongers, hate slingers, scum, scuzz, road kill, etc. It gets rather old and tiresome, and the truth is that the murders and bloodbaths that have taken place in the name of Jesus Christ, have been done by evil, powerhungry and miguided men, not true Christians. That happens even today, although of course not to the scale that it did in antiquity.
You are still stuck on finding THE other side of this argument in explaining ad infinitum the barbarian actions of the Muslims throughout history. But you are pulling that from non-existent content in this particular situation, and you are doing so simply because the authors of the book are EX-MUSLIMS who are now EVANGELICAL clerics. They are writing a defense for true Christianity, using Jihad as an illustration of the fact that these things are not exclusive to Muslims, but have occured in history as well by those professing to folllow Christ. Neither the short book presentation nor I have at any time attempted to give a dissertation on how heavily the balances fall on either side. Now, if you ask me, yes, I know that the balances are far outweighed on the side of Islam. By the same token, if GWB made that statement or not, I personally do not believe for one NY millisecond that he is a true christian, as it is incompatible with the oaths he has taken, etc. There also is more to being a Christian than just saying it for political vantage. But then, this is once again another subject and maybe another forum.
I commend you for your zeal, but I think you ought to take a few minutes to breathe before you attempt to answer - no hard feelings meant.
