Though I don't agree with this particular statement by Pat Robertson, I do think that God does punish bad people, and bad cities. Take Sodom and Gomorrah. God specifically destroyed those cities b/c of decadence. Pat Robertson said God sent Katrina to New Orleans b/c of decadence as well. I tend to agree with him. But I also think God wanted the U.S. to see the state of those African-Americans we have been neglecting, including the decadence. I heard that gay bars were proliferating there where (whites and blacks) were engaging in unnatural affections for the opposite sex. Thailand was the same. They had child prostitutes, and all sorts of sexually deviant activities going on there. Just last year, a politician was caught on an airplane on his way to Thailand with five pounds of candy and a stack of dollar bills in his briefcase.

God will punish those who transgress the law. He is a loving God, but He is also judgemental.
