Re: Severe Eczema and Impetigo to boot!
Hey,
My name is Augusto and i've suffered with similar distress for the past 4 1/2 years.. It all started when i was a freshmen in high school, and up until that point i had only mild/moderate eczema on my inner arms, and behind my knees. All of a sudden, i began to experience eczema on my face. Unfortuneatly due to wrestling, i came in contact with impetigo, (i would assume through contact with either dirty mats, or wrestlers), and i haven't been able to shake it since. I've tried treating it to no avail through Keflex, Rifampin, Clindamycin, Amoxicillin, (all at different times) and topical steroids of various strengths and types. The only conclusions i've drawn is that it goes away when it wants to, and seems to be somewhat seasonal. I do know for me that poor hygiene, stress, and un
healthy Diet are some things that seem to set it off. When i was running everyday, it seemed to catalyze the healing process. And i've read that showering as often as possible is best. But it burns to take a damn Shower!!! So, i'm now a freshman in college and struggling with the very same issues! Its very hard to live with a disorder like that and carry on with a normal social life! It sucks because i'm such an outgoing person, and when i have a breakout i don't even want to leave my room to eat. So i just wanted to let you know there are others out there, and i feel your pain! I too have a hard time with intimacy with my girlfriend, just because i don't feel positive about myself when my eczema/impetigo is bad. So, keep your head up! If you ever wanna talk more in depth about things my email is guco@hotmail.com - Drop me a line! Until then i'll be searching as desperately as you for the answer.
Best of Luck- Much Love to All-
Augusto Carrillo
