Hi! I'm a mom of 2 girls ages 5 and 2 with eczema. My baby has it the worst and she has just developed impetigo so I have an idea of what you are talking about. I can only tell you what the doctor told me. To cleanse the area(s) with Safeguard or Dial Antibacterial soap a couple of times a day. To apply a triple antibiotic, which is over the counter 2 or 3 times a day. Keep the area loosely covered with gauze and tape. I do laundry with All Free and Clear. For the first 2 days after you begin treatment I was told to wash the sheets and clothes. Wash everything you touch with a bleach and water mixture. I am going to try Lysol or some other Antibacterial Spray. She was given a perscription Antibiotic to be taken by mouth. Hopefully, If you do this everyday faithfully and make sure that things are clean(most important)then it will go away. I think you just keep giving it back to yourself. We had that problem with Thrush, it just kept coming back until we just had to get on it. Not that we weren't paying attention before but you must leave no stone unturned. Make sure you clean the bathtub with bleach after each use. Use antibacterial soap to wash your dishes. Keep your nails clipped and always wash your hands. If you drive clean out the car thoroughly. Just think of every place you go and everything you touch as a potential danger for re-infection, so WASH IT. Try and identify the allergen. Keep a detailed record of what you eat, where you go and what you do to help better understand what triggers your outbreak. I hope that everything gets better.
