Mass. has a religious exemption, it's the only way you can get around vaccination. I didn't deal with it yet as our child is only 2 and a half, but theoretically here is how it works.
You need to write a letter that says that
vaccination is against your religious belief. I justed looked up Mass law and it's not much different from ours (I am in NY), you don't have to belong to any religion or anything, and they don't have a right to question you. A simple statement that it's agains your religion is enough - by the law, anyway.
The problem is school officials are as brainwashed as everybody else. If they still refuse you, it's your job to teach them the law and explain to them that it's illegal to refuse you. If that doesn't help, my understanding is that a letter signed by lawyer usually convinces them, because going to court is not in their interest - they would need to prove that you are not doing it for religious reazons, not something that can be realistically done.
