Re: No Doubt - Permanent Mental Impairment
oh. i guess that sort of thing is lost on me. not because i'm too naive not to believe in its existence, but because i believe that what they have, i don't want nor need to make me happy. i may go by SwedeFox, but i'm an "eastern block" native, and i witnessed what happened to the leaders of the country where i was born - the people had enough, had an uprising, and dragged the leader and his wife, following a speedy "trial", into the square of the capital, where they were placed against a wall and shot dead. as i am opposed to capital punishment, i do not endorse this sort of answer to a problem, but am merely saying "keep it up, oh all-powerful ones, your day will come...". i'm an orwell fan. though most of his stories end sadly, i think this was his way of making us think and push our buttons. "animal farm" ought to be 3rd grade mandatory reading. better yet, make it into a children's book and read it for your kids at bed-time.
i also suppose that this is exactly the very reason all those rich "conservatives" as so big on "christian" issues, because religion is an opiate of the masses, telling us that we may suffer on this earth (especially when we vote for assholes like bush), but our reward is in heaven. well, if i have to share heaven with kissinger & ass-croft & rove, et al, i'll take my chances in hell...
