Re: RED TONGUE - Does anyone know what this means?

Wondering if this could be due to a new medication? Infection? Or slow filtering of toxins due to compromised kidney function? Possible deficiency of B vitamins, Folic Acid, or Iron? Strawberry & raspberry colored tongues are seen in certain stages of scarlet fever. Scattered red areas are considered benign (but we'd have to ask if this is truly the case?) Hypothyroidism can result in thickening of the tongue with thick, slurred speech & hoarseness. Would that apply here?
