Bravo Bugsy!
I have been saying this from the beginning myself. I see no reason people can not exchange ideas in a civilized, respectful manner. There are a few glowing examples of posters on these
Debate Forums who regardless of how unpopular their ideas, and how inflammatory the responses, never lose their cool and sense of dignity and respect.
Whether we like it or not, the whole world is comprised of people who think, talk, eat, pray and even smell differently from each other. The sooner we begin to acept that, the better off we'll be. Wanting to silence, manipulate, control, intimidate or vanish the opposition, has never yielded positive results anywhere in the real world.
I think the main problem is when moderators themselves not only are unable to establish >equally< fair standards for everyone, but disrespect even the most commmon rules of etiquette amongst themselves.
Ultimately, for those who would prefer that these forums be abolished altogether, remember that the reason the
Debate Forums were placed by Spirit at the very bottom of the site was precisely to keep them separate for those who would be upset by them being together. I personally still do read more of the support than
Debate Forums , and add my two cents on the debate forums once in a while. However I insist that just because I may not want to be involved in a debate, does not give me the right to limit others from doing so, nor tell them what should constitute healing for them. I excersice the power of my index finger over my mouse; To click or not to click, that is the question (answer?)
