Yes, this is a Pitta condition. It is accompanied by poor lymph drainage from the eyes, which in turn is related to poor digestion and Vata moving in the reversed direction. Mucus combines with toxic acids and bacteria which end up moving into the mouth and eyes, and possibly the ears, leading to inflammation of eye lids and adding to eye sensitivty and eye strain. When liver and digestive functions improve and one's diet is less and less mucus-forming, blepharitis begins to subside. Kidney cleansing is also a good idea to prevent urinary sediments ending up in the eyes.
