Can OATMEAL be eaten RAW?

of course if can.

Can't it?

It must be ok to eat oatmeal raw, right? Isn't that the ideal state to eat most foods?

I started eating raw oatmeal when I was a kid, I didn't like the mush of cooked oats, but I loved oats. So, cold, with cold milk, honey maybe, berries if available, and eat!

But then my family starts teasing me about it, and eventually I heard it swells up in the gut and will kill you in your sleep as it expands. LOL - it does swell upi, but I didn't get killed yet.

So - anyone with an opinion? Is it better or bad to eat oatmeal raw?

And whats the deal with Quick Oats - partly cooked are they? Is that a better choice for the raw-eaters then? or is the good stuff lost in that process? [i am wary of the word 'process'].

Thanks, its a wierd quiestion, I know - what else would you expect from ME?
