UPDATE: Youngest Son In Bad Accident
Thanks to everyone for all you've done. =)
Surgeries went very well and the burns are healing cleanly. He's doing much better now, even overheard one doctor call him a miracle. Today they're moving him from the hospital 3 hours away to a inpatient rehab hospital very close to us. He'll be there for 1-3 weeks depending on his recovery rate, then he comes home to finish recuperating.
Right now, his biggest obstacle is his attitude. The only ones who seem to know how to deal with him are my self, my husband (his stepdad), and my father, who lives about 4 hours south. I know he's frustrated, but he has to learn that the world doesn't revolve around him and that nurses have other patients. From what I've heard of this rehab center, they're very good at handling the emotional side as well, so hopefully this will be good for him on multiple levels.
Now it's on to the long slow healing process, healing of emotional, mental, and spiritual sides as well as the physical. Please continue to keep him and us in your thoughts for the long hard road ahead. A little calming energy would help us all, and I know I could use some additional strength - my reserves are pretty much gone. (It will be so wonderful to be able to eat from home again. It's hard to eat healthy when you're grabbing whatever is available in a strange town at weird hours.)
Thank you all again!
