Hurrah, results at last!!
Hey all,
I believe many of you have read my previous posts regarding my quest for vision. Well, it continues, but today, I have real cause to celebrate. I have been using zinc for weeks to improve my vision, and have had great results in my left eye, especially when using zinc picolinate(just tried zinc gluconate, and it just isn't quite as good either). Unfortunately, my right eye has not been as fortunate. So, I tried potassium, and saw some benefit, but due to a long-term condition called interstitial cystitis, I have not been able to supplement the K much or regularly. I still believed strongly that I was missing a nutrient that would have an effect on the right side of my body, and most importantly on my right eye. After scouring acu-cell.com, it occurred to me, that the only other logical mineral for me to try was Sulfur!. So, I tried MSM. Now, 4 days later, I am seeing vision changes in my right eye. I tried to eat a banana a day(for K), in addition, and am soo excited by this improvement. Unfortunately, I believe I slowed my improvement down by taking too much MSM causing a stomach upset. I jumped to 2000mg on the second day, and my tummy was not too happy about that. I have had problem free results taking the MSM after dinner away from very acidic drinks.
I'm pretty confident that permeability has been a problem with my right eye vision and nutrient absorption. Sulfur is vital in improving cell and membrane permeability. Sulfur helps regulate the sodium/potassium pump of the cells. In the eyes, that permeability can also affect flexibility which allows the eye muscles to adjust for focusing. I'm amazed that today I can feel my right eye responding to my efforts to focus, something it hasn't done for a very long time. This progress hasn't been as fast as my results with zinc, but I do believe that it will be very helpful in regaining my vision. Interestingly, everything I read about MSM says that results can take several weeks. So I'm happy that I'm getting some results in just 4 days.
I will keep everyone posted on this progress. By the way, my right eye is still seeing much better, but some acuity was lost while using a different form of zinc than the picolinate. I just started using zinc gluconate a couple of days ago and have recovered much of what was lost with the other form, but I'm using about 100mg for now(no more than a week at this level), so I do not know how well it will work when I reduce my dosage again. It isn't as potent as the picolinate, but I'm trying to avoid the issues related to the picolinic acid.
Anyway, I'm hoping that the MSM will help my eyes to begin to self-regulate the mineral balance so that I can reduce or eliminate my supplements. I'm not in any hurry though, I'd rather just have reliably clear vision.
I must also add that there may be another factor in my improvements. I have been doing a
parasite cleanse for the past couple of weeks, but I have seen an improvement in a mild thrush/coating on the tongue(basically its gone). In the past, while suffering from candida, I found that using Molybdenum had a real effect on my visual clarity. I haven't used any moly this week, but it is possible that by eliminating some of the candida within my sinus and oral cavities, that it could have had an effect on my vision as the moly did in the past. I have another week of para cleansing before I begin rebuilding my flora, and I will be keeping an eye on my eyes. ;)
For anyone who is interested, I have always gotten the fastest and most effective result against candida with Pau D'arco. I take at least 4 tablets of the bark everyday for 2-4 weeks, and I get results quickly, and without cutting out fruit.
