patients are frightened by the doctors

I have observed that when patients see the doctors/surgeons, their first statement is usually that get your gb out immediately otherwise if a stone gets stuck in the bile duct, which is very very narrow, you will have to undergo a major operation. According to them, the stone stuck in the bile duct, can not be released except operation. This is what makes the patients frightened and they go for operation immediately. I was under a great pressure to go for operation but I have resisted it. I told the surgeon that I don't have pains due to stones except gas pressure. He replied that he will first take my gb out, then see whether it is IBS or some other complaint.
