So...yes, first things first....start drinking at LEAST 2 litres of water a day. It might take 3 weeks or so to rehydrate (you're probably chronically dehydrated) and notice better, more frequent bm's....so just be diligent about it.
Also...start your day with WARM water (I boil water and add it to pure water and put it in a big glass bottle and add some fresh lemon) with lemon - a few mugs (or half a bottle) is good. The WARM water stimulates peristalsis.
Drop all your stool softening things. They aren't helping your muscle tone.

Also...eating fresh fruit daily will help too.
Some people find that mixing 1 tbsp of whole psyllium husks with a pulpy juice really helps their bm's. But you might want to wait until you've rehydrated yourself before trying that.
Taking a good oil is also a great idea. Zule takes 3 tbsp (I think!) of olive oil nightly before bed. Or you could take Udo's Choice daily.
Good oil, fresh fruit, exercise, LOTS of water, a little easy jumping up and down...oooooh you'll get regular in no time! Now that you've decided to take your health into your own hands and tackle this...you WILL succeed! And we'll be here to answer any questions you may have.
