Re: help, my 7 yr old stays impacted (constipated) alot.

I just read one of your most recent messages about transit time and my daughter goes everyday but her transit time is like 4 days.
I learned this with giving her okra a few wks ago on a Sat. night and she got rid of it Wed. night. She is on a stool softener called Miralax. It is prescribed. A few times I gave her enemas
she had a good bowel movement but oily substance floating on top.
Also she sometimes has stringy-thick long looking movements.
Dr. said she has slow metabolism but her energy level is very high.
However had her thyroid check and it is fine. She would get constipated when she was a baby alot. But I never let her go 2 days without a B/M. Her stomach gets bloated alot and Dr. noticed a few lbs of not-needed weight gain. She (Dr.) said she has about 5 lbs of feces up in her. According to the xray. 2nd xray she still had the gas and feces but not as bad as the 1st one.
What would cause this 4 day transit time? If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it .
