I was diagnosed with PMDD when I was 41. I thought it was early menopause symptoms. I literally had thoughts of strangling someone during these difficult times, followed by such guilt that I also had suicide thoughts. I told my doctor, who prescribed Paxil for me.
I'm not on Paxil anymore. But I can definitely see now where my PMS is worse if I have "self-medicated" with coffee during PMS week because I just run out of energy. Here is a definite reason to get off the stuff for good.
